Got fed up and mass-emailed my family asking them to please please stop forwarding political messages to me. (Deep South US, predominately Red state. Conservative religion. AND I LIKE SLASH FICTION. You can see where this is going.)

Responses so far: one brother teasing me about voting, a sister-in-law sending me jokes about drunk winos, and my mother being nearly Jewish in saying "Thanks for the response, I at least know you're alive now!"

I'm gonna be bald before I'm forty. Swear to God.
