"I've been reading a lot of fic lately, authors I haven't read before and authors I read before ages ago, and I'm noticing that a lot of them have put their fic onto AO3. And I've noticed that a lot of that fic--awesome, incredible fic, sometimes epics, sometimes drabbles--is almost entirely uncommented-on.
And that makes me sad. I've always read every single comment on stories I liked, because I love knowing other people's reactions to them. I love knowing how much I'm a part of things, loving the same story as a crowd of other people. And being an author myself, I love thinking about how happy an author must have been to get those comments, even the short ones, even the ones that are nothing but " ♥ ", because I love getting those too.
Therefore, I am declaring the next twenty-four hours as POST COMMENTS TO AO3 DAY! \o/
Find that fic that you always loved and read it again and share the squee that you felt from the very first time you read it!
Find that beloved author who's converted over to AO3 and is now staring at a pile of kudos and not a single text comment!
Find that story that changed the way you saw a character, a fandom, an author, and tell the person/people who wrote it what it meant!
Copy ambersand-hearts-semicolon and paste it into a bunch of different random fics!
My personal goal is 50 comments in the next 24 hours. Who's with me?
Please feel free to signal boost this. :)
